Central New York Regional Director, Empire State Development
Daniel Kolinski serves as the Central New York Regional Director at Empire State Development (ESD), New York State’s chief economic development agency. ESD works to grow the state’s economy by supporting business expansion, innovation, and job creation, while strengthening communities and promoting inclusive, sustainable growth across all regions.
A proud Central New Yorker, Daniel graduated from West Genesee High School and Hobart College, where he earned degrees in Biology and Environmental Studies. After college, he spent four years in Washington, D.C., working in political communications, gaining valuable experience in public policy and strategic messaging.
Returning home to Central New York, Daniel has dedicated his career to advancing regional development and community engagement. In addition to his role at ESD, he serves on the Boards of Directors for the United Way and NUAIR, helping guide initiatives that strengthen local communities and foster innovation in unmanned systems technology.
Daniel lives in Camillus with his wife, Brittany, and their two daughters, Ava and Cara. His work reflects a deep commitment to building a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-looking Central New York—one that continues to grow opportunities for families, businesses, and future generations.
