Dr. Donald Crampton

Dr. Donald Crampton is the Director of Strategic Partnerships in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University. Don works with universities, community colleges, economic development organizations, and industry partners to support ECS’ workforce development and research efforts. He currently serves as the Workforce Development Pillar Lead for the NSF Energy Storage Engine in Upstate New York.
Don has been working in higher education for over 20 years. With a career dedicated to fostering student success and empowering local economic development, he has consistently driven initiatives that bridge education and workforce development. His expertise lies in creating impactful programs that align educational outcomes with industry needs, ensuring that students are well-equipped for the evolving job market. Prior to joining Syracuse University, Don was the Dean of STEM at Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.
Don holds a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College, and a Ph.D. from Arizona State University.
